Norm and Jerry sat down at the table at the Gathering Ground WIndsor Locks location followed by Bill and then Fred and Dave. All enjoyed a great breakfast with both hi-test coffee and some low-test (this usually brings a fresh pot right from the coffee maker as decaf does not garner much demand so early in the AM.
Bill drove the Harley Davidson and parked right in front, it was visible for all from the breakfast table. Yes, Bill does wear a helmet most of the time. There was a story of Bill one time taking the bike to 'naked'(the bike i said) with no bags, no wind screen and a few other things and taking a ride in the country with no helmet. It turned out to be a short ride ..... something about the wind needed a lot of hair to make this kind of ride enjoyable.
Norm reported that upon renewing his driver's license in Massachusetts when it already had RealID Status, he had to again produce the laundry list of ID"s to be renewed again with the RealID emblem.
Bill reminisced about the time he was in Las Vegas and had a few days extra so he rented a motorcycle to take a ride. He found himself in the mountains of Utah on the last day and had to make a long run back to Las Vegas in order to meet the return time. This meant arising at 6AM and heading south. He found the outside temp to be 20 F but not wanting to purchase another day of rental took off to return. About an hour into the trip with very light clothing and only thin driving gloves, he stopped at a restaurant to get a hot coffee and to hit the John. The coffee was easy with a quick OK responses when the waitress asked. The second task, with thumbs so cold, and only using the four fingers and lots of jumping up and down did get done what needed to be done so he could go back to his seat and hold the warm cup of coffee!
Fred found that the app Notes on his IPhone opens the world when you touch and hold. Enjoy if you have an IPhone.
Another feature that appeared on both the iPhone and the Android was the location tracker. Seems like both systems default to tracking you as we checked around the table for our whereabouts over the past few months. Some, to much our surprise.
So, on the iPhone:
How to View the Location History of Your iPhone
Tap Settings from your SpringBoard.
Choose Privacy from the Settings menu.
Select Location Services from the Privacy menu.
Tap System Services: from the Location Services menu.
Choose Frequent Locations from the System Services menu.
At the bottom of the Frequent Locations page you will notice a section called History.
On Android:
How to view your location history in Google Maps
Launch Google Maps.
Tap the more button (three horizontal lines) on the top left corner.
Tap your timeline.
Tap the calendar icon to view a particular day.
Swipe left or right to switch months.
Tap a date to view your location history.
Seems like this feature can be turned off in case you want to, but this feature on both phones showed that the phone was better at remembering than the owner's memory(Proof from around the table).
Your scribe,
Jerry
