GATHERING GROUND (FOR REAL!):
07:30 on Weds: Full table of six, actually the max at a table for this phase of COVID. Chet was first walking in with Jerry followed by Norm and Dave E. Bill was a few minutes later and then Fred Goff. Great table for the first time since last fall in the outside world.
In case anyone remembers, this puts Norm late for the first time since this scribe has been publishing minutes. Norm was always there waiting for any and all visitors and as hard as I tried to beat Norm and Dick (Martin), they were always waiting as I walked in.
One of the recommendations for after the shots is to take one aspirin and a small coke and take a nap. It worked for Chet and his good father son. Yes, small Coke.
For the folks who still have weak cell service at their house there is a company that makes a few devices to amplify the cell signal and rebroadcast to the interior of our homes. WeBoost is one of manufactures and it has been tested successfully by one of the attendees at the table. It works!
Jerry has been looking at an alternative to his ISP (COX communications ) for internet service and has signed up with Elon Musk for Starlink. It's a low orbit satellite cluster that provides low latency internet service. $100 now for a mid to late summer slot to beam me up and get on the satellite service for the internet.
With Dave (H&R BLOCK) at the table the discussion of taxes came up with one conundrum in the ointment. Taxes are due later this year( May 15) but if you are estimating your taxes, April 15 is still the date for estimating what you owe and that date has not changed. IRS rules rule!!
Fred is still flying but only once a month at this point instead of several times a month. This makes reviewing the checklist much more important before these infrequent trips up to the wild blue.
Bill is outsourcing his lawn care provider. He has decided that brown is an inappropriate color for his front lawn. So Bill has been freed from this responsibility and is just saying this can be easily solved with a little blue on a green, blue ink on a green check!! Thank you Pierce....
